Welcome to the web page of the 22nd International Conference for Mesoscopic Methods in Engineering and Science (ICMMES-2026). The conference will be held during the week of August 10–14, 2026, at the Hainan University located in the beautiful city of Haikou, Hainan Province (Island), China. The local organizers of the ICMMES-2026 are School of Physics & Optopelectronic Engineering and Center for Theoretical Physics, Hainan University.
Following the tradition established by previous ICMMES conferences, short courses will be offered on Monday, Aug. 10, 2026. From Tuesday, Aug. 11, to Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, there will be four days of technical presentations.

About Haikou

• Leiqiong Haikou Volcanic Cluster Global Geopark
A natural geological museum with more than 40 volcanic cones. As a national 5A-level scenic spot, it preserves the most complete and typical volcanic landforms in China. Visitors can overlook the city and the Qiongzhou Strait from the crater’s peak, enjoying unique volcanic landscapes and learning about geological evolution.

• Holiday Beach
A popular coastal leisure area with soft sand, clear waters, and swaying coconut palms. Stretching for several kilometers, it is divided into leisure, sports, and sightseeing areas, perfect for relaxation, seaside walks, sunbathing, and various water sports such as swimming and surfing.

• Dongzhai Harbor Mangrove Natural Reserve
China’s oldest and largest mangrove reserve, known as a “paradise for birds” and “marine forest park”. It is home to diverse wetland ecosystems, hundreds of bird species, and rich marine life. Taking a boat tour through the mangroves allows visitors to appreciate the unique charm of the wetland.

Local Delicacies
• Hainan Noodles: Thin rice noodles tossed in special braised sauce, topped with crispy peanuts, pickled bamboo shoots, and fried crackers—an iconic local breakfast.
