Dear Colleagues,
We cordially invite you to join us in the Seventh International Conference for Mesoscopic Methods in Engineering and Science (ICMMES-2010), July 12-16, 2010. This year, the ICMMES Conference will be held in the campus of the University of Alberta (UoA), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada -- the organizing institute of ICMMES-2010. The Local Organizing Committee is led by Professor Jos Derksen of UoA.
As in previous years, short courses designed to help students and researchers new to the field will be offered in the first day of the Conference, Monday, July 12, 2010, followed by four days of technical presentations. More details can be found in "Program" on the ICMMES webiste. For the convenience of the participants, we have installed the following functions on ICMMES website (http://www.icmmes.org): - Conftool: a conference management software for registration and abstract submission. Conftool allows you to create your personal account for ICMMES-2010. The information of your account can be saved and edited later. Further info can be found on the following website: http://www.conftool.net/user_documentation.html
- PayPal can now be used to pay the registration fees online for international participants. To avoid unnecessary transaction fees, we would like to encourage US participants to send checks to Old Dominion University according to the instructions provided on the ICMMES website.
- Domestic participants from Canada can pay the registration fees according to the fee schedules in Canadian dollars (CND$) available online, and using cheques payable to "the University of Alberta" according to the instructions available online.
Several important dates and deadlines: - Early registration with discounted fees: by Monday, June 7th, 2010.
- Abstract submission: by Monday, June 7th, 2010 to be fully considered for oral presentation.
- Abstracts for oral presentations submitted after June 7th will be considered only if slots are available.
- Abstracts submitted after Monday, June 28th, 2010, may NOT be included in the Conference Program.
We are hopeful to obtain support from some US funding agencies to support US participations in ICMMES. Should we obtain the funding, it will be dedicated to support students, post-doctoral researchers, and junior faculty in the US institutions to attend ICMMES-2010. For more details, please see "Travel Support" under "Logistics" on ICMMES website. More information can be found on our website http://www.icmmes.org.
