Announcement

Dear Colleagues,

The deadlines for both abstract submission and early registration have been extended to April 25, 2014.

We cordially invite you to join us in the Eleventh International Conference for Mesoscopic Methods in Engineering and Science (ICMMES-2014), July 14-18, 2014.  This year, the ICMMES Conference will be held at the Holiday Inn Midtown 57th Street, New York City, USA. The Local Organizing Committee will be led by Prof. Taehun Lee at the City College of New York

As in previous years, short courses designed to help students and researchers new to the field will be offered on the first day of the Conference, Monday, July 14, 2014, followed by four days of technical presentations. More details can be found in the "Program" section on the ICMMES website.

NVIDIA have kindly offered to sponsor an award for the Best Presentation on GPU Computing and Applications. All students and postdoctoral researchers are eligible for the award and the winner, as judged by the scientific committee, will receive an NVIDIA GPU K40.

For the convenience of the participants, we have installed the following functions on ICMMES website:

  1. Conftool: a conference management software for registration and abstract submission. Conftool allows you to create your personal account for ICMMES-2014. The information of your account can be saved and edited later. Further info can be found on the following website: http://www.conftool.net/user_documentation.html
  2. The registration fees should be paid in US dollars.
  3. For US participants, PayPal can be used to pay the registration fees online in US dollars. PayPal is integrated in Conftool.  To avoid unnecessary transaction fees, we encourage US participants to send checks to Old Dominion University according to the Instructions provided on the ICMMES website.

Several important dates and deadlines:

  • Early registration with discounted fees: by Friday, April 25, 2014.
  • Abstract submission: by April 25, 2014, to be fully considered for oral presentation.
  • Notice of Abstract Acceptance: by Friday, May 2, 2014, for the abstracts received by Friday, April 25, 2014.
  • Abstracts for oral presentations submitted after April 25, 2014, will be considered only if slots are available.
  • Abstracts submitted after April 25, 2014, may NOT be included in the Conference Program.

It is very likely that we will receive a funding to support the researchers in the US to participate in ICMMES-2014. Should we obtain the funding, it will be dedicated to support students, post-doctoral researchers, and junior faculty in the US institutions to attend ICMMES-2014. For more details, please check "Travel Support" under "Logistics" on the ICMMES website.
